3 Anticipated Books of 2022

The new year is known for bringing in a slew of new experiences: new possibilities, new concerns, new surprises. The new year brings new books, which is great news for readers, and 2022 appears to be a promising year.

Lapvona by Ottessa Moshfegh

Best known for “My Year of Rest and Relaxation” and “Eileen”, Ottessa Moshfegh is coming out with a new book this year titled “Lapvona”. The story follows a young boy by the name of Marek who gains the company of Ina, a blind midwife. But Ina's abilities go beyond childcare: she has an uncanny ability to interact with nature. Her gift allows her to acquire sacred knowledge on levels much beyond those available to villagers, regardless of how religious they are. Moshfegh’s Writing is notorious for being comically dark and twisted so I’m excited to see how this story plays out. The book is expected to come out June 21 2022.

Either/Or by Elif Batuman

Those who read “The Idiot'' should be excited because the sequel is coming out in May! Our beloved protagonist Selin's quest for self-Knowledge continues as she goes overseas and pushes the boundaries of her newly acquired adulthood. The Previous book details Selins first year of Harvard. Now Selin comes to certain conclusions about the universal relevance of parties, alcohol, and sexuality, guided by her literary syllabus and her more worldly and confident peers, and is determined to put those beliefs into practice—no matter the cost. The writing of Elif Batuman is one of the best. The way her stories unfold with the driving logic and intensity of adolescence. Its fascinating narrative will face you with searching questions long beyond the last page, making it hilarious, revelatory, and unforgettable.

Book Lovers by Emily Henry

Emily Henry is a New York Times #1 bestseller, and for good reason. Best known for “People we Meet on Vacations”, Henry’s new book is coming out on May 3 2022. Her new novel is about a budding romance between a ruthless literary agent and a melancholy book editor. The book is said to be a perfectly modern read, with a light humour and likable characters.

The start of the New Year is synonymous with tons of totally new experiences: new potential, new anxieties, and new surprises. The books this year seem to be promising. New novels are released every year, which is fantastic news for readers, and 2022 looks to be a strong year.
